Jogajog Is Now Fully Available in Urdu — with True Right-to-Left

We are pleased to announce that the complete Jogajog experience is now available in Urdu — not just translated words, but a true right-to-left (RTL) layout, where menus, lists, buttons, and the entire structure mirror and flow in the natural Urdu reading direction. This addition is part of a 25-language rollout that also includes other right-to-left languages such as Arabic and Persian, alongside the growing set of languages Jogajog already supports.

For communities across Pakistan and the wider diaspora — in the UK, the Gulf, and the US — this is more than convenience; it is a matter of dignity. An organization whose members think and speak in Urdu every day deserves a directory app that reads in that same language, in that same direction, rather than an interface that was clearly designed for someone else and merely translated afterward.

Everyday scenarios where this matters

The anjuman’s member register

For the secretary of any anjuman or tanzeem, the member register is the backbone of the organization. It is consulted every time a subscription is due, a committee needs to be reached, or a new member joins. That list now lays out correctly in Urdu — names, roles, and contact numbers all read naturally right-to-left, columns and search fields following the same mirrored order, with no sense that the app was built for a different language and language support was added as an afterthought.

The welfare society’s appeal notice

When a welfare society sends an appeal for a family in need, or a notice about a community gathering, that message reaches the whole community through the Notice Board. A notice written and read in Urdu lands directly, in the words members actually use at home; and seeing how many members have opened and read it gives the secretary real confidence the message actually got through, rather than wondering whether it was seen at all.

The alumni reunion

An old boys’ or girls’ association plans a reunion years in the making. The organizing committee has to find the right people among thousands of former students scattered across cities and countries, send timely broadcasts about dates and venues, and confirm the message was actually read before assuming everyone knows. An interface that works natively in Urdu, laid out the way its readers expect, makes that whole process easier for both the committee doing the organizing and the members receiving the news.

Search that does not stop at the script

Many family names exist in both scripts — Urdu and Latin. Jogajog’s search is transliteration-tolerant across both: type “Ahmed” and احمد appears in the results, and the reverse works just as well. This matters especially for biradari networks and professional bodies, where members of the same family register their names in different ways across different records, and no one should have to guess which spelling was used to find a relative or colleague.

What is included in the Urdu interface

This addition is fully integrated with Jogajog’s existing features, not a separate stripped-down version:

  • A true right-to-left layout — menus, lists, and buttons all in the natural Urdu direction
  • Broadcasts and notices sent to the right group via Smart Audiences, with read tracking
  • Roster import straight from Excel — no need to retype member lists by hand
  • A branded app carrying your organization’s name and identity
  • Cards and PayPal for international payments

All of this runs on the same foundation already serving anjumans, welfare societies, mosque committees, biradari networks, and professional bodies in Bangladesh, now extended in full to Urdu-speaking communities.
