Why language is the feature that matters most

A member directory only works if every member uses it. In real organizations — somitis in Dhaka, gurdwaras in Vancouver, Vereine in Munich, alumni sanghams in Chennai — memberships span generations. The committee may work in English; the members often don’t. Every organization we studied had the same quiet failure: tools chosen by the young, abandoned by the many.

What “available in your language” actually means

• The full experience, not a token page. Every language gets the complete site and resource library — the same depth as English.
• Real scripts, real typography. Twelve writing systems with proper webfonts — Bengali conjuncts, Nastaliq flow, Thai word-breaking, CJK punctuation — and true mirrored layouts for right-to-left readers.
• Search that speaks both ways. Type “Rahim”, find রহিম. Transliteration-tolerant search works across scripts, because real directories are written in two alphabets at once.
• Local payment reality. bKash and Nagad native in Bangladesh; cards, PayPal, and local methods elsewhere.
