Bengali-smart search: how “Rahim” finds রহিম
July 3, 2026 · Jogajog team · 2 min read
Type Rahim into most directories and রহিম simply doesn’t exist. Half your organization becomes unfindable the moment names are stored in Bengali script — or worse, someone “fixes” it by butchering every name into ASCII.
Two scripts, one person
Jogajog stores a Bangla name alongside the English one as first-class data, and search is transliteration-tolerant in both directions: Latin queries match Bengali spellings and vice versa. No special keyboard, no exact-spelling guesswork — Rahim, Rahym or রহিম all land on the same colleague.
Search everything that matters
- Names — both scripts, fuzzy on romanization
- Designation, unit, phone and email
- Your custom fields (batch, blood group, employee ID…)
Results appear as you type, and visibility rules are enforced inside search — a member can’t discover a hidden phone number by searching its digits.
The interface stays English by design. It’s your members’ data that speaks both languages.
